The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

The Aims of Scouting
Every Scouting activity moves boys toward three basic aims: character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness.
The following independant studies were done to test the effectiveness of Scouting. Each study covered different aspects of character growth and development, as well as long term impact on quality of life growth. The results of these studies show just how much a Scout gains throughout their Scouting experience.
