MCC COPE & Climbing

The MCC COPE program is offered at both of our camps, MSR and Belk. MSR currently has a low and high COPE course while Belk Scout Camp offers only a zip line - an example of a high COPE element. However, we can offer COPE initiative games and trust events pretty much anywhere, anytime.

MSR COPE Course Elements

The Mecklenburg Scout Reservation includes both low and high course elements in addition to the outdoor climbing tower and indoor climbing wall.

Belk COPE Course Elements

Belk Scout Camp has a pair of parallel zip lines that extend from the climbing tower.

Belk Scout Camp and MSR now offer a new challenge - test your balance and problem solving skills as you climb a stack of milk crates. See if you can best one of the current camp records:

Plans are in the works to add a low COPE course at Belk Scout Camp. We have received preliminary approval for the low course elements to be added in the woods behind the BMX track. This exciting new opportunity is due in large part to the generosity of the Catawba Lodge of the Order of the Arrow.

COPE Programs - Under Development

The COPE and Climbing committee is in the process of defining several new and exciting COPE programs to better serve the packs, troops and crews of Mecklenburg County Council. Furthermore we are researching the possibility of programs designed for non-scouting organizations such as Girl Scouts, schools (public and private) as well as corporate groups.
